Born in Hangzhou, Built for the World
BrightMug was founded in 2019 in Hangzhou, one of China’s most dynamic and innovative cities. Known globally as the home of Alibaba and a thriving ecosystem of technology and manufacturing enterprises, Hangzhou provided the perfect environment for our vision: to create a modern drinkware manufacturer that combines the precision of advanced engineering with the creativity of world-class design. Our founders, led by CEO David Zhang, brought together decades of collective experience in metal fabrication, consumer product design, and international trade to build a company that could serve the growing global demand for premium reusable drinkware.
In our first year of operation, we focused on building relationships with raw material suppliers and investing in the best available production equipment. By 2020, we had secured our first major export orders to European clients and achieved LFGB certification, opening the door to the lucrative EU market. The COVID-19 pandemic, while challenging for many manufacturers, actually accelerated demand for our products as consumers worldwide shifted toward reusable, sustainable hydration solutions — and we were ready to meet that demand.
Our breakthrough came in 2021 with a strategic move to a purpose-built 16,000-square-meter manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Hangzhou. This new factory, equipped with five fully automated production lines including CNC hydraulic presses, robotic welding stations, and advanced vacuum insulation chambers, allowed us to scale our monthly output to 500,000 units and eventually to our current capacity of 800,000 units per month. The facility also houses our in-house mold workshop, powder coating line, and laser engraving center — giving us complete vertical integration and unmatched quality control.
Today, BrightMug stands as a comprehensive OEM and ODM partner for brands across 50 countries. Our 120-person team includes industrial designers, material engineers, quality inspectors, packaging specialists, and export logistics coordinators — all working together under our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. We hold full certifications including FDA, LFGB, BSCI, REACH, and California Prop 65 compliance, enabling our clients to sell confidently in any market worldwide. Our Manufacturing Facility
Located in the Xiaoshan Economic Development Zone of Hangzhou, our 16,000-square-meter factory represents the cutting edge of drinkware manufacturing. The facility is organized into dedicated zones for raw material storage, CNC forming, welding, vacuum insulation, surface treatment, assembly, quality control, and finished goods warehousing — ensuring a streamlined production flow that minimizes handling and maximizes efficiency.
Our equipment roster includes 12 CNC hydraulic press machines, 8 automatic welding robots, 6 vacuum insulation chambers with copper lining capability, 4 powder coating lines, 3 laser engraving machines, and a complete in-house mold workshop with CNC machining centers and EDM equipment. This comprehensive tooling allows us to handle everything from standard production runs to fully custom private mold projects entirely under one roof.
